George Ellis was Musical Director of Sugar, Some Like It Hot for the Production Company in Melbourne and The Adventures of Snugglepot and Cuddlepie directed by Neil Armfield for the Sydney Festival. He was Associate Musical Director for Man of La Mancha starring Anthony Warlow and Caroline O’Connor. He was Assistant Conductor for Opera Australia’s production of La Traviata and conducted the modern American opera Little Women for the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. He premiered the opera Somewhere Between the Sky and the Sea by Sophie Spargo. He has performed many opera gala concerts with acclaimed singers including David Hobson and Lorina Gore.
