George’s composition Pop Mass received first prize in the Sydney Eisteddfod and was premiered in Colorado USA. His piece Celebration Overture was premiered by the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, Kuala Lumpur. He has composed music for the film Ladies in Black directed by Academy Award winning director Bruce Beresford and wrote the music for the award-winning short film Frank by Jasmin Forbes-Watson. He has also composed the orchestral music for the Lights of Christmas ceremonies at St Mary’s Cathedral in Sydney.
In 2009, he conducted The Rite of Spring by Stravinsky on screen for the Bruce Beresford film Mao’s Last Dancer, and has composed and arranged music for Bruce Beresford’s feature film, Ladies In Black, scheduled for release in October 2019.
