George Ellis has completed the orchestral arrangements for the Sydney Symphony Orchestra concerts with acclaimed singer/songwriter Josh Pyke. He conducted the orchestral soundtrack to the international movie Gang Dao. He conducted the famous orchestral piece for children, Peter and The Wolf by Prokofiev narrated by the highly-respected red Wiggle, Murray Cook. He performed the much-loved orchestra concert for children The Conductor and The Clown with the great entertainer George Washingmachine in two seasons with the Canberra Symphony Orchestra and the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra.
He has also been appointed Musical Director of the International Student Awards for the NSW Premier’s Department at the Sydney Opera House and he is Musical Director and Composer of the Lights of Christmas display at the forecourt of Sydney’s famous St Mary’s Cathedral on 10 December. He is also presenting concerts for the Dungog Festival on 24 October and he has recently signed a composition publishing deal with Origin Theatrical publishing company.
This year, he was appointed Musical Director of the prestigious Greek Festival of Sydney’s performance of Axion Esti –
the 70-minute oratorio by Greece’s most important classical composer, Mikis Theodorakis.
